Season 56
2018/19
In Masterwork’s 55th season, Shining Night, we explored the hope and beauty that shines in the darkness. Our season’s program included two beautiful requiems by Gabriel Fauré and Johannes Brahms, which are united in their their mission to provide solace to the living, and songs about the night (and the light that shines in it) from Franz Schubert to Morten Lauridsen. We also celebrated contemporary American composer Kirke Mechem, the ‘Dean of American Choral Composers,’ whose music was featured in each of the concerts.
2017/18
Our 2017-2018 season featured performances of Mozart, Gjielo, Jenkins and Barber and included our popular Holiday Festival Concert and Market. The season ended with the British Invasion, a concert of popular music from Dowland to the Beatles.
2016/17
Music: the language of emotion, spirit and fun! Our 53rd season was full of wonderful concerts. We began with the transcendent Rachmaninoff Vespers and celebrated the holidays with our Holiday Festival, a concert for the whole family which includes an old world Holiday Faire. Next we present Verdi's powerful and majestic xi with full orchestra in March and our final concert was an entertaining evening of the music of Kander and Ebb, the writers of Cabaret and Chicago.
Don't miss out on these sparkling concerts.
2015/16
Music by Bach, Mozart, Lauridsen, and Thompson. Also featuring American composers Gwyneth Walker, John Corigliano, Eric Whitacre, Take Five, and Pentatonix. Two of these concerts were accompanied by orchestra and the last by flamenco guitar!
2014/15
What a fantastic 51st season! We started with the Grand Mass in C Minor by Mozart in October, followed in December by the sparkling Gloria in Excelsis Deo, Cantata 91 by Bach. March brought the ethereal Requiem by Duruflé, followed by Les Misérables in May. Most definitely a delightful season.
2013/14
Celebrating 50 years of choral music during our landmark anniversary season, it was our most spectacular yet!
