Margaret Fondbertasse
Passionate about performing, Margaret is a staff accompanist at Skyline College, where she supports the college’s diverse and vibrant vocal, choral, instrumental, and musical theater programs. She also performs as one half of Katzenduo, a cabaret duo with Skyline vocal faculty member Meghan Dibble, dedicated to exploring and celebrating modern art song with joy and vitality.
Margaret has held accompanist positions at several leading Bay Area institutions, including the SF Conservatory of Music, and esteemed ensembles such as the Peninsula Women’s Chorus, and Cantabile Youth Singers. She is currently the accompanist at St. James Episcopal Church in San Francisco, where she plays an integral role in the music ministry.
A proud graduate of UC Berkeley, Margaret earned her bachelor’s degree in music, receiving both the prestigious Hertz Fellowship and the Eisner Prize. She continued her studies at the Royal College of Music in Manchester, UK. In addition to her work as a pianist, Margaret is an avid cellist, studying with Carol Rice.
